Denton Austin PLC is honored to feature the artwork of Rupert Aker. Based in the Cotswolds, England, Rupert is a self-taught artist with a love and understanding of the countryside—underpinned by reading land management at the Royal Agricultural University. As to the inspiration and method for his beautiful landscape paintings, Rupert offers: “I walk the valleys and hills, drawing my inspiration from the woods, meadows and hedgerows, painting ‘en plein air’ when possible. My aim is to capture the effects of the light on the land through the medium of oil paint with a palette knife.”

His commissioned artwork presented here features landscapes through the four seasons, with views to the Cotswold escarpment in spring, Painswick church in summer, Pitchcombe cottages in autumn, and Sheepscombe in the snow.

Rupert’s commissioned works are in private collections around the world, and his paintings are available in a number of galleries throughout the Cotswolds, including Burford Garden Company in Burford, Wychwood Art In Deddington, and his own studio gallery, The Loovre, in Painswick.
